Our parent-child mindfulness classes are held at the Parkway Early Childhood Center. The set of four classes is designed for preschool age children (ages 3, 4, 5) and their parents or caregivers. The classes are held once per week for four weeks. Each class session lasts one hour and focuses on a specific mindfulness topic. During these hands-on classes, the preschoolers learn mindfulness techniques side-by-side with their parents. You will participate in activities that bring awareness to your senses, body, breath, and emotions. Your child will create projects designed to help you incorporate mindfulness into your daily lives.
The goal with mindfulness practice at this age is to start to develop the habit of intentional awareness (short moments of awareness repeated many times). While our classes will lay the foundation for mindfulness within your child, remember that mindfulness is an ongoing “practice.” Any moment in which you and your child are paying attention to something in the present moment, you are strengthening the skill of mindfulness!
During our classes, we ask that you:
* Be "present" and "in the moment" with your child.
* Treasure every single minute of this precious one-on-one time with your child.
